True Shooting percentage is the best simple holistic measurement of scoring efficiency. This is because it factors in the value of three-point attempts and free throws in addition to two-point attempts. It properly weights the value of these shots and spits out a players' efficiency expressed as a percentage. Points / [2*(Field Goals Attempted+0.44*Free Throws Attempted)]

Effective field goal percentage is the best measurement of efficiency on field goal attempts. It affectively weighs the value of three-point attempts, but unlike true shooting, it does not include free throws. eFG% is essentially points per shot expressed as a percentage. ((FGM + (0.5 * 3PM)) / FGA

Assist percentage is an estimation of the percentage of teammate field goals made that a player assisted while on the court. Essentially shows how often a player is assisting teammates. AST / (TmFGM - FGM)

Block percentage and estimation of the percentage of opponent two-point field goal attempts block by a player while on the court. MP / 5)) / (MP * (Opp FGA - Opp 3PA)

Steal percentage is the percentage of opponent possessions that end with a steal by a player while on the court. 00 * (STL * (Tm MP / 5)) / (MP * Opp Poss)

Points per shot is...well...the amount of points a player scores per field goal attempt. (Total Points)/(Total FGA)

Field goal attempts are recorded any time a player attempts to score the ball and is not fouled.

Field goal made are recorded any time a player attempts a shot and scores.

Minutes are the amount of minutes a player played on a given night. MPG would be their average minutes played per game.

plus/minus records how many points a players' team gained or lost in comparison to the opponent while a player was on the court. If a player substitutes in and the score is 20-20 and when they substitute out the score is 30-25 their plus/minus is +5
